I have come across a lot of people who have been told at some point in their lives that they cannot sing. This simply isn’t true. Everyone has the ability to sing, it just takes time to develop your skills. Whether you have a large voice that you cannot control or you find it hard to hit those high notes, I’m here to help you. What to expect in my classes

I started teaching people to sing in 1997 and I’ve been teaching music to beginners and advanced students ever since. This has given me an insight into the way the voice works. At the start of the learning process, there will be a great emphasis on breathing, posture, learning where the abdominal muscles are and how they work. Later sessions will cover how the vocal cords work, how to make a heavy sound or a light sound, how to sustain a note, and how to begin a note. We’ll then move on to learn about how the voice resonates in the head and the chest.

My goal is to teach every student to sing with ease, confidence, and enjoyment. I encourage students to explore many different genres of music, including classical, pop, folk and jazz, helping to develop their vocal range. My background is mainly classical, alongside music theatre and opera, but I can help you to learn different styles from other genres too.
